after-school programs

We provide more than 100 children and adolescents marketable skills and a brighter future through our after-school programs.

We have daily programs at our community center in Nagarote and we also rent a smaller house in San Martin, another area of Nagarote, after identifying a need in that community, as well. Many of the children would cross the dangerous Pan-American highway to visit our community center, so we ultimately decided to bring our programs to their neighborhood as well.

We currently offer the following classes: computers, dance, music/art, beauty/hairstyling, tailoring, sewing, healthy cooking and food preparation, martial arts, crafting, and soccer.

The program was originally designed to eliminate gangs and has effectively done so in the barrios where we work. We have also seen a significant decline in the number of teen pregnancies among the teens in our Project.

Both candidates for Mayor of Nagarote in the last election were part of our Project!
