As we engaged with Nagarote’s poorest families, we have had the pleasure of getting to know scores of kids and to watch them expand their horizons and develop as valuable members of their community. Children whose parents never finished sixth grade are graduating from high school, finishing college and finding good jobs. Kids who live in shacks with outhouses are growing trees from seed and giving them to their neighbors. Four girls who started in our program as young teens are now in college and working for us as program coordinators. There are so many wonderful stories to tell. Here are just a few.
