Norwalk Joins Sister Cities International

Mayor Harry Rilling announced today that the City of Norwalk has joined Sister Cities International, one of only six Connecticut cities to be paired with cities in other countries. “The Norwalk/Nagarote Sister City Project has done a remarkable job of sustainable community development in Nagarote, Nicaragua. I’m proud to have Norwalk engaged in this effort at citizen diplomacy and for Norwalk to join Sister Cities International on my watch” he stated.

N/NSCP Receives $12K Grant to Establish "Healthy Children Program"

"Families in Norwalk's sister city of Nagarote, Nicaragua will soon learn about establishing a healthier lifestyle and tips on preparing nourishing meals. The Norwalk/Nagarote Sister City Project was recently awarded a $12,000 grant by the International Foundation to establish a Healthy Children food and nutrition program."

Twenty-Five Scholarships in Nagarote Thanks to Middlesex Middle School

Norwalk, CT -- Twenty-five youngsters in Norwalk’s sister city, Nagarote, Nicaragua will be attending school this year thanks to the generosity of Purple Team kids and parents at Middlesex Middle School in Darien. And, students in Allyson Power’ Spanish classes are exchanging pen pal letters with them. The scholarships were facilitated by the Norwalk/Nagarote Sister City Project.
